Overview

The underground poetry of the GDR came into discredit when Wolf Biermann publicly declared after the discamouflage of Sascha Anderson and Rainer Schedlinski that the whole circle of poets around the Prenzlauer Berg had been an invention of the Stasi. Exhibitions, performances, concerts and readings in private homes should only have been allowed to better control the scene. The artist's neighborhood as a garden colony of the Stasi?
