Rodrigo Aragão is a director, screenwriter, and special effects makeup artist, recognized as one of the leading names in genre cinema in Brazil. Born in Guarapari, in the state of Espírito Santo, he is the founder of the production company Fábulas Filmes and gained recognition with films such as "Mangue Negro" (2008), "A Noite do Chupacabras" (2011), "A Mata Negra" (2018), and "O Cemitério das Almas Perdidas" (2020) — works that blend horror, Brazilian folklore, and social critique. His films have screened at over 140 festivals worldwide and received 36 awards, both national and international. In addition to directing, he is recognized for his work in makeup and practical effects, collaborating with a wide range of productions throughout Brazil. His career has been a fruitful and independent one, marked by partnerships and collaborations with major players in the audiovisual industry, such as Globo Filmes, O2, and RT Features. In 2023, Fábulas opened its own studio in Guarapari, marking a new chapter for the company as it rebrands and expands its market presence, broadening its scope.
